This costume designer wanted a top
hat for a White Rabbit character. He didn't want the ears
to be coming up through the hat, he wanted the ears
to be of the hat...and he wanted the ears to look
like the Sydney (Australia) Opera House. It was
constructed like origami out of a polystyrene used to make
lampshades, covered in a thin "liquid vinyl", with
pink felt inside. The ultimate compliment was that the
woman who had to wear it for 2½ hours never
complained!
